Victorian Christmas Market

10th – 15th December

The Scarborough Victorian Christmas Market will be on Westborough, near the Brunswick Centre, from Tuesday 10th December until Sunday 15th December from 10am till 5pm. The market will also be open for late night shopping on Thursday 12th until 8pm.

Wrap up warm and pay a visit to uniquely Victorian themed Christmas huts and discover that unique Christmas Gift you have been looking for – look out for Queen Victoria herself who’ll be around to keep a watchful eye on proceedings! Watch the dazzling Victorian Juggler with fire, balls, clubs and rope and take the children on a journey back in time and be dazzled by the magical mayhem of close up magic tricks.

 

Victorian Magic Man

There’s more interactive family fun with Victorian games such as snakes and ladders, crochet, jack sticks, graces, hoopla and other fun period board games. A candle making demonstration will show off the skills and methods required for this all important part of Victorian life with candles made from Bees Wax and Tallow.

Victorian entertainment schedule:

  • Thursday 12 December, 11am: meet Queen Victoria as she greets her subjects throughout the town
  • Thursday 12 December, 2pm – 8pm: Victorian candle making
  • Friday 13 December, 11am – 2pm: musicians ‘The Grinnigogs’ will be playing popular Christmas tunes from the Victorian period
  • Saturday 14 December: Victorian games, perfect for families to play
  • Saturday 14 December: Victorian juggler and children’s workshop

  • Hedge-Hoggers Cider: hot mulled and spiced cider
  • Crofts Chocolates: seasonal homemade chocolate gifts for all
  • Noble’s Shellfish and Curing Whitby: award-winning smoked kippers, dressed crab and shellfish
  • The Silver Lady: handmade jewellery and gifts include bespoke crystal pieces
  • Dappa Deserts: creps made to order with fantastic fillings from everyone’s favourite Nutella to American style breakfasts, all cooking is eye level so that customers can enjoy a live action cooking experience while they await their food
  • Malton Relish: local homemade relish, jams and preserves
  • The Rustic Baking co Ltd: Vegan/vegetarian double chocolate brownies, homemade cakes, scones and 25 varieties of flapjack
  • Christmas Gift Stall: Christmas gift ware and fancy goods
  • Christmas Winter Warmers: woolly hats, gloves and everything to make you feel warm and cosy 
  • Presto Coffee: fresh coffee and hot chocolate
  • The Flower Boutique: handmade wreaths, fresh flowers and Christmas decorations
  • Kettlecorn popcorn: freshly popped corn with a wonderful aroma and taste
